Over the weekend I spent some time at a lovely little farmhouse and it got me reflecting about growing up on my parents’ ranch. The stillness of early spring mornings is still my favorite. Windows open, a light breeze blowing in and the smell is fresh. Now when I go home I look forward not only to the smell of the morning dew on the trees outside but also the smell of my mom brewing the first pot of coffee before any else is up. There’s just something about it that makes me feel refreshed and hopeful. Cozy. Loved.
I’m looking forward to heading there this week with my hubby and baby girl to celebrate my little brother who is graduating high school. I’m so proud of him and thankful for the family I’ve been blessed with. We are never guaranteed more time with the ones we love and the news from Oklahoma is serving as a heartbreaking reminder of that. I’m turning off email while there and will be responding once I return. I am thankful for clients who understand my need to prioritize my family.
